Saturday’s Cycle for Survival event was just incredible. With hundreds of people packed onto a hundred bikes, energy was high, the mood jubilant, and I was— Well, I was sweaty. Altogether the Spincredibles raised exactly $5,000, and the event raised nearly $14 million worldwide. Not bad for a bunch of indoor spinners. Of course, a succession of moving stories told by survivors and victims’ family members drew tears and reminded us all that though Sloan-Kettering made some cash, the battle isn’t over. There are still no cures for cancer. Ride with us next year?
